Author of numerous articles concerning land surveying including Co-Author of "Following in Their Footsteps"; a history of surveying in North Carolina.

Taught numerous seminars on surveying topics such as "Searching for Field Evidence", "Writing Land Descriptions", and "Testifying in Court".

Guest speaker on numerous occasions at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.

President of the North Carolina Society of Surveyors in 1998. President of the Western Chapter of North Carolina Surveyors 1989, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010
